Slabs

Terracotta slabs are half blocks. Place one on the top or bottom half of a block, then place a second slab of the same kind into the same space to make a double slab.

Behavior

Slabs copy the block they are made from:

• Mining: they need a pickaxe to drop, and take as long to mine as the full terracotta block.
• Double slabs drop two slabs. A double slab looks exactly like the full terracotta block.
• Blast resistance and sounds: the same as the full block.
• Glazed slabs: like glazed terracotta, a piston can push them but a sticky piston cannot pull them back.

Plain, dyed and glazed slabs are all mineable with a pickaxe. Slabs are in the vanilla #minecraft:slabs tag, with one exception listed on the Tags page.
